You’re probably here because you’ve seen my work on social media, or because very few offer this service unless they’re also selling the costume.

Good news: I offer this service on any costume you want to ship to me, no judgement whatsoever on the quality or the materials. This is the ideal choice if you want to uplift a nice piece you’ve bought or made, and also if you want to take a piece you’ve fallen out of love into a new era of affection for it.

In the images you can see some of the effects I can create for you. Many more await, if you allow me to be free and bring your character to life. They also show how the dress was before the process.

Because sometimes you have that feel of “fresh from the shop” dress, while you want it to look like it’s actually lived, like the character has given it life.

Because I can control what I do, I know what will come out before even touching the piece: your work will be in safe hands.

Because I know how to create the character, I don’t add the same effect to every costume. I can make your things like they came out of a movie, I know the difference between the average videogame-animation-larp weathering and that used for theatre and movies. I can choose which one to do.

I know how to build up the effect so that it looks well from afar, on a stage, or to keep it detailed for a party where everyone will be seeing up close.

I know how to make the effects endure wear and wash, if needed.

All of these for me are choices I make willingly and according to what you want. This is why you want to elevate your piece with my work and why it is different from trying to achieve something alike on your own.

How it works

1. You email me with photos of the costume you’re interested in having weathered. I mainly work on fabric pieces, but do some work also on wigs and other elements.

2. You tell me what you’re envisioning, the character you aim to build, its story, and what is your budget.

3. You ship your costume to me

4. I do my magic

5. I send you photos of the piece once I dedicated to it the time you’ve paid for, from here you can say ok, I can give it some little extra time, or you can pay for an upgrade

6. I work on it more, if needed or requested. Then again photos.

7. I ship the dress back to you

8. You fall in love with the piece you thought you knew

Price ranges

The price of this listing is intended as deposit.

The price does not affect directly how old the piece will look or how much it will change. I can give intense effects in a short time, and light ones in a long time range. What you purchase is my time.

So why add budget? Because it will improve the quality. For large areas, like skirt hems, much time will be needed. The more time you pay for, the more realistic the effect will be, even if you want your dress to come from Cinderella’s attic, and not look like it belongs to a zombie.

The price starts at 100 euros. This however is suggested for light weathering only.

Effects/character

I don’t just weather things.

My work brings life to the character, tells it story. A swamp ghost will be different from a desert mummy, or from a 18th century living watercolor.

I can make things rot according to the environment, use colors and techniques to tell the costume’s story, to enhance its details and colors.

I have done drowned courtesans, watercolor 18th century fairies, 17th century ghosts and so much more.

Durability

You will be able to choose if you want your dress to be super strong and/or washable by hand, or if you wish more techniques to be used. I prefer to work with things that won’t need to be washed in water, so I usually suggest to wear protective garments to prevent sewating on the costume. But I do understand that there may be other needs. I understand you may be a performer and have certain movement needs and so on.

Return shipping cost is not included in the price you will select, and will depend on final weight and size of the piece.
