Can you imagine something as decadent, as lavish and as idea as a victorian tea?
With this listing I am offering you a dream: the ideal garment to crown your victorian tea fantasy. I will be making a twin for myself, and I thought: “Why not make one for someone else as well? I already have the perfect fabric!”.

Teagowns are among the most dramatic and comfortable types of dresses a lady could have worn between 1890s and 1907. Designed to be worn at home, while enjoying scones and sandwiches with a few intimate guests.

It is possible to have this dress made with detachable sleeves and collarette, to be used as morning dressing gown over a nightgown, or while replying to letters and invitation cards in the morning, before dressing for lunch.

So here you have a wonderful brocade satin, in the palest green with vines and flowers. The sleeves will be full and flowy, well supported, the front of the dress and the inner sleeves will be in smocked cotton muslin dyed to a pale yellow, the lining of the sleeves and the belt will be in pastel pink. The bottom hem will be lightly reinforced with historically accurate techniques to make it flare beautifully.
The back will feature the typical watteau pleats, allowing you to slightly adjust your corset, should you wish to accomodate a few more sweets.

1890s suitable corset and petticoat are required for this garment to fit as it is intended.
